Therapists – Brighton & London

It’s important to find the right therapist to work with, someone you can feel safe with. In addition to myself, below are some therapists I have worked with in the past and would not hesitate to recommend. Therapists may specialise in certain areas that you feel you need support in, perhaps a childhood trauma or an issue with general anxiety, whatever the issue be sure to do some research and ask potential therapists about their experience in that area.

Good therapists will be attending regular supervision, and taking a healthy interest in CPD (continuing professional development) which will keep them up to date with the latest thinking in the industry.

All therapists should also have public liabilty insurance and be a member of a proffessional organisation such as the BACP or UKCP. Choosing therapists who are members of these registers gives you an assurance that they meet the standards of proficiency and ethical practice you would expect.

All therapists should be working in line with an ethical framework – you can read more about the BACP’s ethical framework here

I work with individuals and couples providing short & long term psychotherapeutic counselling. My approach is integrative with a transpersonal perspective.

I believe that we all have an ’emerging purpose’ even if we are not aware of it. Talking in a safe and confidential space can help us find perspective and clarity, enabling us to step fully into our own lives.

I offer a relational approach to therapy, drawing upon self psychology, object relations / psychodynamic and existential thought.

By drawing on a number of approaches of counselling and psychotherapy I can use the approaches which best suit each client rather than trying to fit the client into a specific approach.

I see our work as a joint collaboration, working together towards helping you make sense of your experiences, enabling you to make the decisions you feel are right for you and achieve more of your potential.

My approach is informed not only by my Psychosynthesis training but by a longstanding interest and involvement in Buddhist psychology and meditation practice, this influence could be summarised in my belief that all beings possess intrinsic goodness; we are fundamentally whole, sane and wise however deluded we may feel day-to-day!
